NULGE Celebrates Adunni’s One Year of Transformational Leadership in Mosan Okunola LCDA

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Branch, has commended the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi, for what it described as a remarkable first year in office marked by transformational leadership, staff welfare, and people centred governance.

In a statement commemorating the chairman’s 365 days in office, the Branch Chairman of NULGE, Comrade Agoro Jamiu Adebanjo, said Adunni’s administration has redefined grassroots governance through transparency, accountability, innovation, and responsive leadership, earning the confidence and admiration of residents and the council workforce.

Agoro noted that within one year, the administration has recorded significant achievements in staff welfare and community development.

According to him, the council has sustained the regular payment of financial assistance to staff, settled hospital bills for workers, increased and consistently paid monthly NULGE meeting allowances, procured a bus for the union, ensured regular supply of drugs to the staff clinic, celebrated Workers’ Day, increased and promptly paid festival bonuses, and maintained regular payment of staff training allowances.

He further stated that the chairman has institutionalised an open door policy, maintained cordial relations with members of staff, upheld the principle that “an injury to one is an injury to all,” and consistently identified with workers by attending nine out of the ten NULGE prayer meetings held during the year.

Beyond staff welfare, Agoro said Hon. Akindele’s administration has also made remarkable strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, environmental sanitation, security, and social intervention programmes.

He highlighted the construction and rehabilitation of roads and drainage channels, installation of solar powered streetlights, renovation of public schools, free educational support initiatives, improved primary healthcare services, environmental sanitation campaigns, empowerment programmes for residents, and other developmental projects aimed at improving the quality of life across the council.

He added that the administration’s achievements have earned the chairman several popular identities among residents, including Madam Thermometer, Koseleri, My Community, My Focus, My Staff, My Priority, and Adunni, bó ṣe ń ṣe ló ń dùn mọ́ wa, describing them as reflections of a leader who listens, serves, and delivers.

The NULGE chairman expressed appreciation for the council chairman’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of workers and the overall development of Mosan Okunola LCDA, praying for greater wisdom, good health, and renewed strength as she continues to provide purposeful leadership.

He congratulated the chairman on behalf of the executives, entire workforce, and management of the council, wishing her many more years of impactful, progressive, and people oriented service.

The council chairman, in her response, commended NULGE for deeming it fit to celebrate her first year in office.

She noted that one hand cannot clap, stressing that all the achievements recorded by her administration were the result of the collective efforts of the executive and legislative arms of the council.

She specifically appreciated the Vice Chairman, Hon. Akintola Falade, whom she described as her brother and partner in progress, thanking him for his unwavering support and contributions towards moving the council to greater heights.
