Lagos State Scout Council Commends Adunnis LEADERSHIP Blueprint Decorates Her as Patron

The Lagos State Scout Council has commended the L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.H.P. Blueprint of the Executive Chairman of Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi, describing it as a practical roadmap for grassroots development and exemplary leadership.

The commendation was made during a courtesy visit to the chairman’s office on Thursday, July 23, 2026, where the council also decorated Hon. Akindele as the Boys Scout Patron in Mosan Okunola LCDA and formally invited her to the forthcoming Annual Boys Scout Commissioners Camp.

The five member delegation was led by the Lagos State Scout Commissioner, Alhaji Adebesin Olohuntoyin, alongside other officials of the council.

Hon. Akindele’s L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P. Blueprint is a ten point development agenda that outlines her administration’s key policy priorities for transforming Mosan Okunola LCDA. In less than one year in office, the blueprint has focused on improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, environmental sanitation, road rehabilitation, security, agriculture and social welfare.

The agenda includes the installation of solar powered streetlights, educational support initiatives, the revitalisation of primary healthcare centres, youth and women empowerment programmes, improved security, urban renewal, care for senior citizens, and initiatives aimed at boosting local agriculture and markets.

Speaking during the visit, the Lagos State Scout Council described Hon. Akindele as a practical and inclusive leader whose leadership style and achievements within a short period in office earned her the honour of becoming the council’s patron in Mosan Okunola LCDA.

“There is something that is particular about you. We call it the patrol system in scouting. It is about carrying everybody along in the scheme of things, and that is what you have consistently demonstrated in Mosan Okunola. That is outstanding.

“We have always been observing you from afar. We want a situation where you serve as a role model to the younger generation. We would be honoured to have you as our patron in Mosan Okunola LCDA because we believe your leadership qualities align with the values and principles of scouting,” said Shomefun Ezekiel, a member of the delegation.

Responding, Hon. Akindele expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Scout Council for the recognition and reiterated her administration’s commitment to delivering impactful governance through the L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P. Blueprint.

According to her response, “L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P. is our watchword. To the glory of God, we have been able to touch all vital areas in less than a year in office. We are proud to say that Mosan Okunola LCDA is happy to have someone like me at the helm of its affairs. We have done a lot in terms of infrastructural projects, welfare, and other developmental initiatives.”

Recalling her background in paramilitary organisations, she said, “I was a member of the Red Cross while in secondary school, so paramilitary organisations are not strange to me. I was also a member of the Girls Guide. Therefore, with the Boys Scout coming on board, I have no choice but to identify with the organisation because I understand the important role it plays in shaping young people.”

“Our children, students and pupils will be mentored and exposed to the values, discipline and leadership training that paramilitary organisations represent.”

“On behalf of the government and people of Mosan Okunola LCDA, I sincerely appreciate you for deeming it fit to make me your patron,” she stated.
