In a proactive move to prevent fire outbreaks and safeguard lives and property, the Executive Chairman of Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi, has procured and installed fire extinguishers across the Council Secretariat and other local government facilities within the LCDA.
To ensure proper installation and compliance with established safety standards, the Council Chairman invited officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to oversee the installation of the fire safety equipment across the various facilities.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Akindele explained that the involvement of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service was necessary to ensure that the equipment was installed in accordance with professional safety standards.
She further disclosed that arrangements would be made to invite officers of the Fire Service to train Council Safety Officers on the proper use and maintenance of the fire extinguishers, as well as other essential fire prevention and emergency response measures.
The initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to promoting workplace safety, protecting public assets, and ensuring a safer working environment for staff and visitors across Mosan-Okunola LCDA.
