The strategic intervention is aimed at decongesting traffic along the main road while enhancing the movement of residents, motorists, and businesses within the council area.
Residents of Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area are set to benefit from improved road connectivity as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi, has commenced the rehabilitation of the BS Streets road network in Federal Ward A.
The BS Streets road network serves as an important access route linking several adjoining streets. Upon completion, the rehabilitation project is expected to provide seamless access through the BS Streets network to Mosan Roundabout, Mosan Bus Stop, Abidap, and other neighbouring streets, thereby reducing time spent in traffic and improving connectivity.
As part of the project, the council has commenced the desilting and clearing of drainage channels to ensure proper water flow and protect the road from erosion and flooding.
The ongoing rehabilitation work was inspected on Saturday morning by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi, alongside the Vice Chairman, Hon. Akintola Falade, and the Iyaloja of Ladega Market. During the inspection, they assessed the progress of the desilting exercise, while Hon. Akindele reiterated the administration’s commitment to delivering durable infrastructure across the council.
Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Akindele said the project reflects her administration’s resolve to address the infrastructural needs of residents and improve the quality of life across the LCDA.
“Roads are more than pathways; they are the lifelines of every community. When we build and rehabilitate roads, we are opening doors to economic growth, safer transportation, and greater opportunities for our people.”
“The rehabilitation of BS Streets is not just about easing traffic. It is about connecting neighbourhoods, supporting local businesses, improving access to homes, and creating a more functional environment for residents,” she stated.
The Chairman further assured residents that her administration would continue to prioritise projects that have a direct impact on the daily lives of the people.
“Every strategic road we rehabilitate brings us closer to the Mosan Okunola of our collective dream. We remain committed to delivering infrastructure that will stand the test of time and serve our people effectively,” she assured.
Residents are expected to enjoy smoother vehicular movement, improved drainage, and enhanced accessibility upon completion of the project.
